THE STORY:

Bubba Red can fix nearly anything in the barnyard. The problem is that he will explain the entire repair while he is doing it, then explain it again after it works.

Broad, sturdy, and permanently dressed like he just crawled out from under something mechanical, Bubba lives somewhere between handyman, bartender, barstool philosopher, and local source of information nobody technically requested. Ask him a yes-or-no question and there is a fair chance you’ll still be standing there twenty minutes later.

He genuinely likes people, likes fixing things, and considers silence a problem somebody ought to address. Karaoke Kitty has learned to sing louder when Bubba starts bending somebody’s ear. Bubba simply raises his voice and keeps going.

For all the hot air, when something breaks or somebody really needs help, Bubba is usually the first one there with tools in one wing and a cold drink in the other.

He may wear out your ear. But he’ll fix the damn hinge.
